ginger power and vitality

[Versione italiana dell’articolo – La forza e vitalità dello zenzero]

I recently tried again the beautiful synergy between ginger and chocolate. The aroma of ginger is pungent, but it has a smooth, crisp note that makes it so appealing. It gives me a sense of warm vitality, and with chocolate it really is a winning synergy.

Referred to in Ayurveda as ‘vishwabhesaj’, universal medicine, and often prepared in pill form, we can use ginger in many forms; powdered, fresh, as an essential oil, and it is actually found in many herbal teas for winter.

There are at least two main areas in which ginger is a master: aiding digestion and improving respiratory problems. Since it fights damp well, it is also suitable for combating rheumatism.

A herbal tea that provides relief, warmth, and good digestion can be a simple ginger and lemon tea; and if you have a cold feeling in your belly in winter, you can pour a drop of ginger essential oil on a teaspoon of olive oil and massage it into your abdomen.

Ginger is also a good aid for nausea, and can help you, just by smelling it, when you need to digest something. Also figuratively speaking ?

Ginger essential oil is also a good analgesic and we said it can help with rheumatism. In this case, pour a drop of the essential oil into a teaspoon of vegetable oil (sesame or hazelnut is preferable in my opinion, but use what you have at home) and apply it.

For a better breathing sensation and to dissolve phlegm, you can put a few drops of essential oil in the diffuser, also accompanying it with lemon or orange essential oil, which go well with ginger. Here are some creative ideas:

Recipe for room diffusion ‘Warm winter

5 drops essential ginger oil

3 drops essential oil of lemon

2 drops sweet orange essential oil

Recipe for room diffusion “Spicy Ginger

5 drops essential ginger oil

3 drops essential oil cinnamon leaves

3 drops sweet orange essential oil

2 drops green mandarin essential oil

I invite you to create some nice scented synergy, remembering that citrus fruits are delicious in diffusion, and go well with ginger. Other spices can also be synergistic, but we will talk more about spices in future articles!
